How to choose real estate recruiting software in 2026

Aug 8, 2026

Real estate recruiting software helps a brokerage find agents worth recruiting, decide when to reach out, and track each conversation until the agent signs. Many brokerages evaluate several of these tools before they buy, to see which one best fits how they recruit and keep agents.

When comparing options, we recommend checking whether a tool does one, some, or all of six things: provide agent production data, flag agents who may move, track your recruiting pipeline, draft personalized outreach, alert you to retention risk, and answer questions about your market. Most tools cover a few. This guide explains each one, compares six platforms brokerage leaders often evaluate, and lists the questions to ask in a demo.

What is real estate recruiting software?

Real estate recruiting software helps brokerages identify and prospect agents in their market, usually using MLS production data. Most tools fall into one of three types:

  • Market data tools show agent production and market share. BrokerMetrics, MarketView Broker, and Relitix are examples.
  • Recruiting CRMs manage contacts, campaigns, and follow-up. Brokerkit is an example.
  • Hiring platforms source and screen newer agents through job boards and interviews. Humaniz is an example.

Courted combines the first two types: MLS production data, plus the pipeline, personalized outreach, and retention alerts to act on them. Courted also incorporates AI to predict which agents may leave their current brokerage, and to generate high quality, personalized outreach to engage agents effectively.

What should you look for in recruiting and retention software?

Look for six capabilities. Each one removes a step your team would otherwise do by hand or in a second tool. If you're still building the recruiting process itself, start with Courted's 5-step recruiting framework.

1. Agent production data

The platform should include current production data for every agent in your market, pulled from the MLS and updated frequently (ideally daily). Tools without their own data ask you to import lists from another provider, which means two subscriptions and lists that go stale.

2. Signals on which agents may move

A list of top producers isn't a recruiting plan, because most of them won't move this year. The best tools include signals, such as a drop in production, a change in listing activity, or a recent brokerage move, to guide you on which agents to prioritize. Here's how predictive analytics improves agent recruiting.

3. A recruiting pipeline

Recruiting works like a sales funnel: conversations lead to meetings, meetings to offers, and offers to signed agents. Your recruiting software should track each recruit's stage, last conversation, and next follow-up, so nothing depends on one recruiter's memory. We cover this in why recruiting is a sales funnel.

4. Personalized outreach, drafted efficiently

Agents tune out mass recruiting emails. A message that references an agent's own recent business reads as a conversation, not a campaign. AI message generation saves time only when it draws on actual facts about the agent’s production, and you should be able to edit every draft before it goes out. See how to write personalized recruiting outreach with AI.

Faster drafts mean your team can start more of those conversations each day. Here's why nine conversations a day can transform your brokerage.

5. Retention alerts on your own agents

Every agent you keep is one you don't have to replace. The software should flag milestones worth recognizing, like a first listing at your brokerage, and changes that suggest an agent may be considering a move, like 90 days without activity. Then it should prompt the manager to reach out. Here's why agent retention compounds over time.

6. Market reports

Market share and market trend reports show which brokerages, offices, and agents are gaining ground in your market. The best tools generate insightful market reports and allow you to understand them quickly, including letting you ask questions in plain English, like which offices are losing volume or which agents are growing fastest.

How do the leading recruiting platforms compare?

Of the six platforms below, Courted is the only one that combines all six capabilities.

  • BrokerMetrics, from Lone Wolf, tracks agent and volume movement by office, including group moves, and flags declining production.
  • MarketView Broker, from ShowingTime, lets you search agents, offices, and brokerages by closed volume and market share.
  • Relitix uses MLS data to predict departures and suggest recruiting targets and coaching.
  • Brokerkit is a recruiting CRM with email, text, a dialer, and automated campaigns. Agent data is imported from another provider or the MLS.
  • Humaniz posts openings to more than 100 job boards, screens candidates, and supports interviews and onboarding. It announced a separate agent data product, AgentIntelligence, in January 2026.
  • Courted includes MLS production data, signals on agents who may move or grow, a recruiting pipeline, ComposeAI outreach drafts, retention alerts, and ResearchAI for asking questions of market reports, all in one system.

Do you need a CRM for agent recruiting?

You don't need a separate CRM if your recruiting platform includes a pipeline and follow-up tasks. General real estate CRMs are built around client leads, so recruiting data has to be imported and kept current by hand. A CRM still makes sense when one team runs client leads and recruiting in the same system.

What should you ask in a recruiting software demo?

Ask questions that show how the platform works in your market, with your team, in the first 30 days:

  1. Where does your agent data come from, and how often is it refreshed in my MLS?
  2. Show me five agents in my market who may be open to a move, and why.
  3. Can my managers draft outreach and track follow-up without leaving the platform?
  4. How does AI outreach use an agent's production, and can I edit every draft?
  5. What alerts will my managers get about our own agents?
  6. Can I ask questions of a market report, and what comes back?
  7. How long does setup take, and what does onboarding include?

Frequently asked questions

What is the best real estate recruiting software?

The best real estate recruiting software combines MLS production data, signals on which agents may move, a recruiting pipeline, personalized outreach drafts, retention alerts, and market reports you can ask questions of. Of the six platforms compared here, Courted is the only one whose public product pages describe all of these, based on a review in October 2026.

What is the difference between BrokerMetrics and Courted?

BrokerMetrics, from Lone Wolf, is a market analytics tool that tracks agent production and movement from MLS data. Courted includes production and movement data too, and adds the recruiting pipeline, AI-drafted outreach, and retention alerts to act on it, so brokerages don't need a separate CRM to run recruiting.

Can software predict which agents will leave a brokerage?

Software can flag agents who show signs they may move, such as changes in production or listing activity, but no tool knows for certain. Treat these as signals for where to spend time.

What is agent retention software?

Agent retention software helps a brokerage keep its productive agents. It alerts managers to milestones worth recognizing, such as a first listing at the brokerage, and to changes that may mean an agent is thinking about leaving. Some recruiting platforms, including Courted, include retention alerts alongside recruiting tools.

What is Courted?

Courted is software for real estate brokerages and teams. Courted Talent Solutions combines MLS production data on every agent in a market with signals on who may move, a recruiting pipeline, ComposeAI outreach drafts, retention alerts, and ResearchAI market reports. Customers include Michael Saunders & Company and First Team Real Estate.
